Terms of service
The plain-language agreement for using sonex. No dense fine print, just what you can expect from us and what we expect in return.
Last updated July 13, 2026
The agreement
These terms cover your use of sonex at trysonex.com and the analytics dashboard. By creating an account or running the tracker, you agree to them. If you are using sonex for an organization, you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf.
What the service does
sonex is privacy-first web analytics. You add a website, install a lightweight tracker, and read reports on your traffic. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change or improve features over time.
Your account
You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your access secure and let us know if you suspect it has been compromised. You must be able to form a binding contract to use sonex.
Acceptable use
Use sonex only for sites and data you are entitled to measure. Do not:
- Use the tracker to collect personal data it is not designed to collect, or to circumvent its privacy model.
- Send data you have no right to process, or use sonex to track people unlawfully.
- Abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or resell the service.
- Break the law or infringe others' rights while using sonex.
Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly by tracked events through our payments provider. Usage above your plan is billed as clearly described at signup, never as a hidden surprise. Fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.
You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future billing and takes effect at the end of the current period.
Your data
Your analytics data is yours. You can delete a website and its analytics at any time from that website's settings, and you can request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by email. Our handling of it is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Suspension and termination
You can close your account whenever you like. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or to protect the service, and where practical we will tell you why.
Warranty and liability
The service is provided on an as-is basis without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, sonex is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will update the date above and, for material changes, notify account holders. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
