Dates and filters

Narrow any page to the exact slice you care about, then share that view as a link.

All pages

The controls in the header of every analytics page (date range, granularity, exclude bounces, filter chips) apply to everything below them: the metrics, the chart, the panels, the map, and the reports.

The date range

The dropdown carries seven presets:

  • Today
  • Last 24 hours (the default)
  • Last 7 days
  • Last 30 days
  • Last 90 days
  • Last 6 months
  • Last 12 months

The arrows either side step one whole span at a time. On Last 7 days, back takes you to the previous seven days, not to yesterday. The forward arrow is disabled once you reach the present, because sonex will not pretend to have tomorrow’s data. A Reset button appears whenever you have moved off the default so you can get back in one click.

Ranges are evaluated in your timezone, which you set in Settings under Preferences. “Today” means your today.

Granularity

The hour / day / month toggle sets the bucket size of the chart. sonex picks a sensible bucket for the range you chose; override it when you want a different shape of the same truth. Twelve months by day is a noisy hairball, and by month it is a trend.

Exclude bounces

The Exclude bounces switch drops single-event visits from the numbers on screen. Turn it on when a wave of one-and-done traffic is burying the behaviour of people who actually engaged. Remember that it changes the denominator of everything, so a bounce-excluded view is a different question, not a cleaner answer to the same one.

Dimension filters

Click any row in a breakdown panel (a page, a referrer, a country, a browser) and the whole page narrows to that value. A chip appears in the header showing the active filter. Click the chip’s x to remove it, or Clear to drop them all.

Filters stack, so you can read “visitors from Germany, on mobile, who landed on /pricing” by clicking three rows.

The columns you can filter on cover pages (path, entry, exit, title, query, url), sources (referrer, domain, hostname), technology (browser, os, device, language), geography (country, region, city), campaigns (utmSource, utmMedium, utmCampaign, utmContent, utmTerm), and events (event, eventType, tag).

Every view is a URL

The range, the granularity, the bounce toggle and every filter live in the URL. That has three useful consequences:

  1. Back and forward work. Undo a filter by pressing back.
  2. Bookmarks work. Keep “last 30 days, /pricing only” one click away.
  3. Links work. Paste the URL to a teammate and they see exactly your view, as long as they can access that workspace.

Next: Overview, the page you will spend the most time on.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Cookies, install and pricing, answered. Still stuck? Ask us anything .

01 Can sonex show revenue next to my traffic?

Yes. Connect Stripe or Polar with a read-only key and sonex reads revenue straight from your payment provider, per website. Revenue then appears as a focusable series on the Overview chart and as its own report, beside the traffic that earned it. No tracked event is needed for it to work.

02 Does sonex use cookies?

No. sonex sets no cookies and needs no consent banner. It counts visits without cookies, fingerprinting, or any personal data, so it is GDPR, PECR and CCPA-ready by default.

03 How do I install sonex?

Add one script tag to your site's <head> with your website id. It is a single lightweight tracker — no build step and no SDK required.

04 Is sonex a Google Analytics alternative?

Yes. sonex gives you the reports that matter — visitors, pages, referrers, funnels, revenue and a world map — without surveilling your audience or drowning you in configuration.

05 How is sonex priced?

By monthly tracked events. Free covers 2k events, Pro is $20/mo for 200k events, and Business is $200/mo for 2M events with team seats.

Revenue beside the visitors that produced it. No cookies, no credit card, no consent banner.
